What happens to all of the remembrances people leave at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington D.C.?

The National Park Service's Rangers collect these items, identify them, catalog and store them as museum artifacts at the Park Services' museum resource center in suburban Washington. Items may be loaned to other museums for exhibition, but they otherwise aren't available for public viewing. This resource center is not open to the public, but in Gagler's humble opinion it should be.
