The Bloody Mary was invented in 1920 by Fernand L. Petiot, a bartender
at Harry's New York Bar in Paris. He had the idea of mixing vodka and
tomato juice and adding a dash of Worcestershire sauce.

He came up with the name Bloody Mary sometime later after the original
name didn't sell too well: Bucket of Blood.
