Why are the hands of wristwatches on advertisements typically
showing the time as 10:10?

This arrangement of the hands is used because it allegedly frames
(nicely, I might add) the name of the watch, which is usually in
the upper half of the face of the watch, because it doesn't cover
any writing in the lower half of the face, and because it is
pleasoingly symmetrical.
