The Baltimore and Ohio (B&O) built its first line around 1820. B&O is
now part of CSX and freight trains still roll over the original Relay
Bridge over the Patapsco River outside Baltimore.

The oldest railroad still operating under its own name is the Strasburg
Rail Road: a short line in Pennsylvania Amish country.
